Play Therapy for Sexually Abused Children
This workshop will present a review of the multiple effects of sexual abuse
on children. The morning section will review the behavioral, emotional, and
psychological effects of sexual trauma from a developmental perspective with
emphasis placed on current research information. The afternoon section will
demonstrate many play therapy techniques to help with disclosure, getting safety
needs met, working through grief, and building resources and coping strategies.
Special strategies for organizing and implementing a group therapy model will
also be discussed.

workshops are being sponsored by Healing KIDZ. Healing KIDZ is approved by The
American Psychological Association (APA) to offer continuing education for
psychologist. Healing KIDZ is also approved by The National Board for Certified
Counselors (NBCC) and The Association for Play Therapy (APT) to provide
continuing education. Our Provider numbers are 5860 and 99-057 respectively.
This workshop has been approved by the National Association for Social
Workers-Louisiana Chapter (NASW-La) for 6.5 continuing education credits.
Healing KIDZ maintain responsibility for the program and adheres to APA and NBCC

will be awarded to participants who attend each entire day-long workshop.
