This workshop will review common anxiety
disorders in childhood ranging from Separation Anxiety,
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Simple Phobias.
Participants will review organic and psychological conditions that can create
anxiety in children. Various developmental symptoms of anxiety will then be
explored to prepare for the afternoon section that will cover appropriate
interventions for each stage. The afternoon section of this workshop will
cover MANY Play Therapy techniques that YOU will be able to put into practice
immediately. We will review assessment methods that help children communicate
their symptoms and develop appropriate coping skills. Experiential activities to
help the child express feelings in a safe and effective manner will be used to
help the participant gain insight into the child’s world. Creative Art
