Group Play Therapy For Children
In this workshop the participant will gain a basic
knowledge of group process with children as well as the four temperament types
that contribute to a successful group experience. Appropriate group size and
facilitator goals will also be reviewed. The afternoon section will involve the
demonstration of many techniques to help with a variety of conditions that
children experience. Special emphasis will be placed on organizing and
implementing social skills groups in the school setting.
Participants will be able to identify:

- Different Types of Group Settings
- Rules and Goals for Group Leaders
- How to Deal with a Disruptive Adolescent
- Activities for Group Cohesion
- Activities to Promote Social Skills
- Activities for Involving Parents

These
workshops are being sponsored by Healing KIDZ. Healing KIDZ is approved by The
American Psychological Association (APA) to offer continuing education for
psychologist. Healing KIDZ is also approved by The National Board for Certified
Counselors (NBCC) and The Association for Play Therapy (APT) to provide
continuing education. Our Provider numbers are 5860 and 99-057 respectively.
This workshop has been approved by the National Association for Social
Workers-Louisiana Chapter (NASW-La) for 6.5 continuing education credits.
Healing KIDZ maintain responsibility for the program and adheres to APA and NBCC
Continuing Education Guidelines. 6.5 continuing education credits per workshop
will be awarded to participants who attend each entire day-long workshop.
