Creative Interventions for Grief and Trauma
Children today are exposed to many events in life
that can create feelings of loss, confusion and pain. In this workshop the
participant will learn about the differences between grief and trauma and common
grieving behaviors in children from a developmental perspective. We will
also cover different grief models specific to the needs of children as well as
signs of complicated grief. The afternoon section will cover many creative
interventions that the mental health professional can implement immediately.
These interventions will help children identify and express feelings, get safety
needs met, and develop appropriate coping strategies.
Learning Objectives

of grief specific to children.
- Participants will be able to identify
trauma-specific behaviors in children.
- Participants will learn over 15 techniques to
use with children.
- Participants will learn 3 methods to engage
resistant children.

The National Board for Certified Counselors
(NBCC) and The
National Association for Play Therapy (APT) recognize K.I.D.Z., Inc. as an
