Play Therapy for Step Families
Working with step families can be a challenging endeavor for everyone
involved. In this workshop the participant will gain knowledge on realistic
expectations for step family development with an emphasis on educating the
parents on common pitfalls to step family harmony. The resolution of grief
issues will be presented with a structured treatment model that involves the
entire family. The afternoon will focus on various experiential activities that
therapists can use to help resolve grief, improve communication, develop
attachments, and build a healthy stepfamily identity.

- Working through the Grief Process
- Activities for Parent Training
- Games for Family Communication
- Modifications for Family Groups

These
workshops are being sponsored by Healing KIDZ. Healing KIDZ is approved by The
American Psychological Association (APA) to offer continuing education for
psychologist. Healing KIDZ is also approved by The National Board for Certified
Counselors (NBCC) and The Association for Play Therapy (APT) to provide
continuing education. Our Provider numbers are 5860 and 99-057 respectively.
This workshop has been approved by the National Association for Social
Workers-Louisiana Chapter (NASW-La) for 6.5 continuing education credits.
Healing KIDZ maintain responsibility for the program and adheres to APA and NBCC
Continuing Education Guidelines. 6.5 continuing education credits per workshop
will be awarded to participants who attend each entire day-long workshop.
